The Official Team Building & Sports Challenge

SYNERGY 2026 โ€“ UG Orientation is the official Team Building and Sports Challenge organized as part of the UG Orientation Programme at IILM University, Greater Noida. The event is thoughtfully designed to foster interaction among the incoming UG cohort while building the qualities that define effective leaders and collaborators.

Across ten engaging sports and games, SYNERGY brings the new batch together to build teamwork, leadership, communication, strategic thinking, healthy competition, and sportsmanship.

Event Highlights & Rules

๐Ÿชข Tug of War

Teams of 8 players (max 2 substitutes), Best of Three pulls, boys' and girls' competitions held separately. Players must hold the rope with both hands โ€” sitting, wrapping the rope, or lying down is not permitted.

๐Ÿƒ Sprint Race

Individual 100m dash with standard standing/crouched start, boys' and girls' races conducted separately. Race ends when any part of the runner's torso crosses the finish line; stepping out of the assigned lane may lead to disqualification.

๐Ÿ Relay Race

4 x 100m team event with a fixed running order. The baton must be exchanged strictly within the 20-metre changeover zone; exchanging outside the zone results in disqualification.

๐Ÿธ Badminton

Singles knockout tournament, standard rally scoring to 21 points, finals played Best of Three Games per Badminton World Federation rules.

๐Ÿงฑ Jenga

Only one hand may be used at a time to remove and place a block. The participant who causes the tower to collapse loses the match; the last successful mover is declared winner.

โ™• Chess

Rapid format with 10 minutes per player. Touch-move rule applies, and games may end in checkmate, stalemate, mutual agreement, threefold repetition, or the fifty-move rule.

๐ŸŽˆ Building Tower Challenge

Hold a balloon aloft with one designated hand while building a 21-cup tower with the other, over 2โ€“3 minutes. Hands cannot be switched during the activity; the balloon may not be caught or trapped.

โšฝ Football โ€” Penalty Shootout

Teams of 5 players take a 5-kick penalty shootout, boys' and girls' competitions held separately, FIFA Laws of the Game apply. Level scores proceed to sudden death.

๐Ÿ€ Basketball โ€” Free-Throw Shootout

Teams of 5 players take a 5-shot free-throw shootout in a pre-declared order, boys' and girls' competitions held separately. Level scores proceed to sudden death.

๐ŸŽฎ BGMI

Squads of 4 registered players compete across multiple matches, with points awarded for placement and eliminations. Hacks, cheats, or unauthorized software result in immediate squad disqualification.

How to Register

  • Registration is compulsory for all UG participants
  • Use your official University login credentials
  • Select any two events from the ten sports & games
  • Respect sport-specific eligibility (Boys / Girls / Mixed) at registration

Deadlines & Changes

  • Registrations after the deadline will not be accepted
  • Event changes after submission will not be entertained
  • Registration once submitted is treated as final and binding

Reporting Guidelines

  • Report at least 15 minutes before your scheduled event
  • University ID card is mandatory for entry
  • Wear comfortable sports attire and sports shoes
  • Avoid jewellery, watches, or injury-prone accessories

  • Participate only if medically fit
  • Report injury or discomfort to first-aid personnel immediately
  • Follow all instructions issued by event staff and officials
  • Avoid dangerous play or reckless behaviour

Code of Conduct

  • Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions
  • Respect participants, officials, volunteers, and staff
  • Accept officials' decisions gracefully
  • Maintain discipline and decorum at all times
